Teasday Guest Review: Very Berry Hibiscus - Starbucks ‘Refreshers’ Range

So I’m sitting here in Starbucks perched on a comfy little seat, about to dip into a very interesting-looking iced beverage. Lovely. At first glance, the soft rosy pink colour looks very inviting, with what looks like berries crushed into the mixture. Looks wise, very presentable!

So, I go to take my first sip. Pleasantly cool, I get a strong note of fruity berries. A reasonably natural-tasting flavour, it is quite enjoyable. You can taste the hibiscus in there, but it doesn’t overly dominate the drink which is lovely. Towards the end it begins to present a slightly greenish taste - it reminds me of green tea however Starbucks claim that this is the flavour from the green coffee beans that the drink is shaken with, which supposedly gives a mild caffeine boost too.

I guess I would summarise this drink as a light, refreshing treat that is a nice alternative to iced tea or coffee. Good for anyone dieting, as it is a low calorie drink that provides a bit of variation from the endless skinny lattes with sugar free syrup that can become a bit repetitive.

Lovely! Now to try the lime one.

This review was provided by the lovely Pippa who may make further appearances as a guest writer for us in future. Many thanks to her for sharing her thoughts on Very Berry Hibiscus!

I have made the decision to expand ‘Teasday’ to cover more beverages as with the current nature of my work I cannot always guarantee to get a different tea each week. I hope to make this a useful tool for my readers both for drinks to enjoy at home as well as on their travels.
