Whilst at Lushfest I found a brilliant little van called “Tea N Toast” who serve strangely enough Tea & Toast! The van is a pretty little french one named Cowslip & their fare is organic fairtrade & homemade.
A lovely lady called Lou made me a cup of Eleven ‘O’ Clock Rooibos that tasted very clean & refreshing with a tasty apricot note to the finish.
Tris very kindly made me the Reawakening Breakfast Tea & brought it to me in bed. This was a perfect cuppa for first thing in the morning a refreshing, clean taste without any overpowering flavours.
Step Two: Fragrant Green Tea
A strongly jasmine scented tea that I was eager to drink just from the smell. The taste was a pleasing green tea with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Step Three: Soothing White Tea
This blend was not one I was eager to try as I’m not a fan of fennel or aniseed. The intense fragrance of these ingredients overpowered the peppermint but once I tasted it I found it to be quite palatable. I was feeling pretty full after a big lunch when I drank this so I was pleased the promise of aiding digestion was fulfilled. Within twenty minutes I felt much better!
Step Four: Energising Earl Grey
Quite simply a tasty blend of Earl Grey that gave me a decent boost for the afternoon.
Step Five: Caffeine Free Rooibos Tea
Very strong vanilla scented rooibos tea that was lovely to drink.
Overall I enjoyed the Tea Treatment but I shan’t be making it part of my daily routine. I don’t have the time to make & drink that much tea throughout the day but it will make me think more about which tea I choose for each time of day when I do make a cup.
This drink is a really lovely one. The scent is just intoxicating even when smelling the tea before brewing. When my Yumchaa package arrived there was a wonderful scent accompanying it that usually only happens when I get a parcel from Lush Mail Order. As I opened the packet I realised it was the bag of Adventure that smelled so inviting. It was so deliciously fruity a cup was made quickly despite it being late as I’d just arrived back at the Annexe after a closing shift.
This is a drink that really needs a good five minute steep as my first three minute one was rather too weak. Once brewed the aroma was of kiwi fruit & almond something rather more mellow than the strong appley one when dry. The taste is a clean rooibos with a slight floral note followed by the sweetness of the caramel. It is absolutely perfect for a refreshing cuppa in the evening as the advantage of rooibos being naturally caffeine free means it won’t stop me sleeping.
